Merry Christmas!

Graham Family 2015 web Merry Christmas everyone! Our last few weeks have been filled with Christmas concerts, decorating, skating, gingerbread house making, and on and on. It may be 11 degrees and rainy out but we're making the most of it. The boys are so excited! One of my favourites things has been seeing the boys trying to find a present for each other. They were both so sweet about it.

I want to thank all of you that I had the chance to work with this year. I am truly honoured when I am asked to capture your wedding memories or this moment in time for your family. I am really looking forward to next year and have some big projects that I'm looking forward to getting a start on.

These are some of the family pictures from our little mini-session to get our Christmas card picture. There were about 1000 outtakes (and I've included a couple at the bottom) but I'm really happy with these ones I got of the boys. One of my goals for 2016 is to get out my real cameras more often for pictures of the boys (and then to get them printed so they don't just disappear into black hole of 0s and 1s on my computer). A couple of the chickens even snuck in for a couple.

This year has also had me thinking a lot about folks who find this the darkest time of the year. If that is you, I hope that this is truly the solstice time for you and that your darkest nights will start to ease.

Megan and Adam - Yarmouth, Nova Scotia wedding photography

A few years ago a friend of mine organized a weekly soccer baseball game. It was a good excuse to get out and have some fun while getting a bit of exercise (highlight of my soccer baseball career was falling while jumping over a chain link fence and tearing a big hole in the butt of my pants).  That where where I first met Megan. She is a sweet, caring person who is quick to laugh and makes people feel comfortable easily. When I met Adam, I knew Megan had found a good match. He's equally sweet and caring and is genuinely interested in everyone that he meets. I was really happy that they chose to have me for their wedding photographer and looked forward to their wedding all summer. Even though the breeze was a bit chilly, it was a beautiful October day for a wedding. After the ceremony we made a couple stops. The first was at the hospital for a quick visit and some pictures with Megan's grandfather who wasn't able to make it to the wedding. Watching Megan's grandfather see her come in with her wedding dress on was definitely one of the most touching moments I've had the privilege of photographing. Then we made a quick stop for a couple of pictures with their greyhounds before the rest of the pictures and the reception. It was such a great day and the perfect way for my 2015 wedding season to end. Congratulations again Megan and Adam!

Kaitlynn and Phillip, Yarmouth, Nova Scotia wedding photography

Kaitlynn and Phill are a couple that could easily make their home anywhere. They're both smart, caring, and friendly. I love it when couples like this decide to stay here in rural Nova Scotia. I'm pretty sure it is the great relationships  that they have with their families and friends here that has made their decision to stay. And because of those relationships their wedding was a true celebration. Congratulations Kaitlynn and Phill! [blogshow id=47c0 player=0 autoplay=0 toolbar=1]

Heidi and Brandon - Yarmouth, Nova Scotia wedding photography

Back in snowy March I had a great time with Heidi and Brandon shooting their engagement session. It was just as much fun to do the pictures for their wedding. They were delighted to be starting their marriage and it was delightful to be a part of that. It was a beautiful day in Carleton and we headed to Ellenwood Provincial Park for some pictures after the ceremony. Other than a heckler swimming in the lake, trying to photobomb a couple of the pictures, it was perfect. Their friends and families were just as excited for them as they were to be getting married. Congratulations again Heidi and Brandon! [blogshow id=4799 player=0 autoplay=0 toolbar=1]

Caroline and Derek - Digby, Nova Scotia wedding photography

Caroline and Derek's wedding came at the end of a very hot, humid stretch of weather. The heat didn't dampen anyone's enthusiasm though on their wedding day. Their wedding was at the beautiful Digby Pines Resort and the wedding reflected the glamorous setting. Caroline and Derek are both warmhearted, caring people. All through the day they were making sure the people around them were feeling comfortable and doing what they could to make sure their guests were enjoying the day. Congratulations again Caroline and Derek! [blogshow id=4783 player=0 autoplay=0 toolbar=1]
