After spending a great Christmas here in Yarmouth with Sherrie's family, we travelled to Saint John to spend some time with my family (7 adults, 2 kids, and a dog in one bungalow!). It was like stepping into a winter wonderland. All of the ice from their ice storm was still coating everything with a couple of heapings of snow piled on top. Despite the cold and shovelling that went along with it, it was really beautiful. The sunrise and sunset light sparkling through the ice was spectacular. After shovelling and sliding one morning I wandered through some of the wild places nearby to take a few pictures. Now we're home and it's a blizzard in Yarmouth! Maggie and Adam - Saint John Wedding Photography
Maggie and Adam had a beautiful wedding ceremony under the branches of an old tree in Rothesay. The sun was out, the river was flowing by behind them, everything was just right. Adam made sure there were lots of laughs through the day, mixed in with just as many moments of genuine affection. Maggie is simply a lovely person and the added stress of the wedding day couldn't change that. The whole day was delightful and was a great way to end my wedding season for this year. Melissa and Joel - Saint John Wedding Photography
Melissa and Joel's wedding was a whirlwind of beautiful locations. Getting ready at one of the Chipman Hill Suites properties, a beautiful backyard ceremony, pictures around uptown (my favourite place in the world), and a reception at the beautiful UNB Grand Hall. All of the spots they chose have great connections to the history of Saint John, which seems like an appropriate thing. They've made Saint John the place where this chapter in their story begins and it was lovely to feel like it was fitting into the story of the city as a whole. The whole day was fantastic but the thing I think I loved the most was the way Melissa and Joel treated their guests. Melissa positively lit up whenever anyone arrived. And Joel has that rare gift of zeroing his attention right to the person he's speaking with. It was clear that they not only care deeply for each other but also the friends and family that surrounded them as they got married. The day was also a bit of a treat for me too because it turned out that there were seven of us from my high school graduating class there (and a couple of friends from even further back). It was great to see everyone and catch up a little bit on these last (gulp) 14 years that have passed.

Erin and Adam - Saint John wedding photography
The very first thing you should do, before you look the pictures, is check out the invitation that Adam created for their wedding. Amazing. And continuing on from there the whole wedding was a great reflection of their genuinely open and caring personalities. Throughout the day little things kept popping up that Erin and Adam had done for each other (and their family and friends). Presents and cards, no one else seeing the dress until Erin was wearing it, little surprises in the details, and beautiful toasts to each other at the reception (not many dry eyes after that, including, ahem, the photographer). It was a fantastic day and I was thrilled to be there. Special thanks to Rebecca McCabe for shooting with me.
