Sarah and Eddie - Nova Scotia engagement photography

Before our January heat wave hit and took away the snow I was able to get together with Sarah and Eddie to do a snowy engagement session. It can be hard to schedule outdoor session in winter, especially when there is travel involved, but it worked out for our first try. They were able to make the drive down from Halifax and we went to the beautiful trail at the Hebron Recreation Complex. Winter engagement sessions are great because they provide a nice contrast to summer wedding photos. Sarah and Eddie are such a sweet couple and I'm really looking forward to their wedding this year (And I guaranteed them that there won't be snow here in Yarmouth for their September wedding). Jessica and Tom - Yarmouth Maternity Photography

I was just looking back to see when it was that Jessica and Tom got married. I did the video for their wedding and it is hard to believe that was more than three years ago. Throughout our photo session I kept thinking back to their wedding because they are still so obviously smitten with each other. They smile and giggle whenever they look at each other and they cuddle up together in a heartbeat (the cold day might have been a good excuse for that one too). And now they get to add to that the excitement about soon welcoming their little guy into their family! [blogshow id=4849 player=0 autoplay=0 toolbar=0]

Gift Certificate Winner

At the Bridal Show I took ballots for a draw for a gift certificate for a free session. You can see in the picture that I had one of my trusty assistants do the draw. Congratulations Angie Foell! I'm starting up a monthly newsletter. It will have some updates on what I've been up to and projects I have planned. I also plan on including offers and prize draws exclusively for newsletter subscribers. There's a link to a signup page above or you can use the form right here in this post!

2015 Wedding Favourites

I've decided to include a lot of images in this post. I could narrow it down further to highlight just a few but I feel like including more fits better with what weddings have come to mean for me. I've come to love photographing weddings. To be there when two people stand up in front of their family and friends to declare that they choose hope and love is incredible. Hope and love in the face of all they know about each other, all they don't know, what they've been through together, and what they can only imagine. It's one of the most absurd and audacious things that we do together but it is also one of the most beautiful. It's a moment that a lot of other moments swirl and centre around. To be asked to be there to document it is truly an honour every time. So, thanks 2015 for all the hope and love, and here's to more in 2016. (if you make it all the way through to the end, you'll get to see me and our boys in matching bowtie gang outfits thanks to my brother's wedding this summer, including T's 'picture face')
