2015 Wedding Favourites

I've decided to include a lot of images in this post. I could narrow it down further to highlight just a few but I feel like including more fits better with what weddings have come to mean for me. I've come to love photographing weddings. To be there when two people stand up in front of their family and friends to declare that they choose hope and love is incredible. Hope and love in the face of all they know about each other, all they don't know, what they've been through together, and what they can only imagine. It's one of the most absurd and audacious things that we do together but it is also one of the most beautiful. It's a moment that a lot of other moments swirl and centre around. To be asked to be there to document it is truly an honour every time. So, thanks 2015 for all the hope and love, and here's to more in 2016. (if you make it all the way through to the end, you'll get to see me and our boys in matching bowtie gang outfits thanks to my brother's wedding this summer, including T's 'picture face')

Megan and Adam - Yarmouth, Nova Scotia wedding photography

A few years ago a friend of mine organized a weekly soccer baseball game. It was a good excuse to get out and have some fun while getting a bit of exercise (highlight of my soccer baseball career was falling while jumping over a chain link fence and tearing a big hole in the butt of my pants).  That where where I first met Megan. She is a sweet, caring person who is quick to laugh and makes people feel comfortable easily. When I met Adam, I knew Megan had found a good match. He's equally sweet and caring and is genuinely interested in everyone that he meets. I was really happy that they chose to have me for their wedding photographer and looked forward to their wedding all summer. Even though the breeze was a bit chilly, it was a beautiful October day for a wedding. After the ceremony we made a couple stops. The first was at the hospital for a quick visit and some pictures with Megan's grandfather who wasn't able to make it to the wedding. Watching Megan's grandfather see her come in with her wedding dress on was definitely one of the most touching moments I've had the privilege of photographing. Then we made a quick stop for a couple of pictures with their greyhounds before the rest of the pictures and the reception. It was such a great day and the perfect way for my 2015 wedding season to end. Congratulations again Megan and Adam!

Kaitlynn and Phillip, Yarmouth, Nova Scotia wedding photography

Kaitlynn and Phill are a couple that could easily make their home anywhere. They're both smart, caring, and friendly. I love it when couples like this decide to stay here in rural Nova Scotia. I'm pretty sure it is the great relationships  that they have with their families and friends here that has made their decision to stay. And because of those relationships their wedding was a true celebration. Congratulations Kaitlynn and Phill! [blogshow id=47c0 player=0 autoplay=0 toolbar=1]
