Happy Halloween everyone! We have an adorable elephant and a ferocious shark running around here. And yes, P was a shark last year too. When we asked him what he wanted to be, a shark was the only thing he was interested in. Last year’s costume still fit so he was all set. I was realizing that I’ve never seen The Rocky Horror Picture Show. It will have to wait until next year because I’ve been saving a rewatch of Shaun of the Dead for tonight. Enjoy all those little ghouls and goblins!

Mallorey and Joe – Nova Scotia wedding photography

You might remember Mallorey and Joe from these engagement pictures. I had just as much fun on their wedding day as I did with their engagement session. They both have personalities that are really fun and really genuine at the same time. They (and their families and their friends) were really welcoming. It’s easy to see why so many people were happy to be there for their wedding (even if it meant traveling from Alberta). Despite the rain it was a beautiful day and it was great to see these two come together. I also enjoyed the chance to see some more of the Annapolis Valley. The ceremony and reception both took place at CFB Greenwood. It was nice to get off the highway and drive through some of those gorgeous small towns up there.

This is the first of a few posts that are overdue. I hope to catch you all up soon on what I’ve been up to. Back in January when I was looking at my calendar for the year I could tell September and October were going to be the craziest months. Lots of shooting and a bit of traveling piled on top of settling back into school routine for Sherrie and starting a school routine with P for the first time. It’s been a bit hectic at times but lots of fun overall.

This session with the Laceys was great. We went to Ellenwood Park and since the gate is closed for the season now we took a walk in to the lake. It’s so quiet and peaceful out there (unless Scout is barking at chipmunks) in the off-season. Liam and I had fun playing peek-a-boo behind trees. He loved running back and forth across the bridge (as you can see in one of the pics).

Happy Thanksgiving! Today was Turkey Day for us. Sherrie’s parents came over and we had a fantastic dinner topped off with delicious pumpkin pie (Thanks entirely to Sherrie. I did the mashed potatoes, which in the scale of difficulty doesn’t even register). I’m feeling very thankful today to have so many wonderful and supportive people around me, two healthy boys, and to live in such a great community (As an example, yesterday’s really quick trip to the market ended up being an hour and a half because I ran into so many friends).

Sherrie realized recently that P really hasn’t seen much of the night sky. This time of year makes for a nice combination of early enough sunset and warm enough weather that they had a special time outside before bed. P got to have a good look at the moon rising as darkness fell. And then there were sparklers to top it all off.
