Some of my wife’s relatives grow organic high bush blueberries. We went picking yesterday. My picking technique was to pick three berries and then swat at a dozen mosquitoes. It was worth losing a bit of blood over. They’re delicious.

I did another toddler portrait session for some friends of ours over the weekend. Because I have a toddler of my own, I have a pretty good idea of what to expect with little ones this age. These sessions involve a lot of movement but even more fun.

I had the fantastic opportunity to do a session with this fresh little one. Her mom had been thinking about some sleeping shots but Lucy had a different idea. She was so alert and amazingly content. It’s been a while since I’ve had a newborn to photograph and I had a really good time.

I met up with another local photographer yesterday at Port Maitland beach to do some shooting yesterday. The beach there is world class. It’s a gorgeous sandy beach that stretches on and on. It is one of my favourite places around here.
My little guy was our model for the afternoon. He plays hard. It is a full body experience at the beach for him. Running, digging, rolling, finding shells, and ’swimming like a fish’ were all interspersed with giggles. It makes for a challenging photo shoot but also lots of fun.
