Trefrys - Yarmouth family photography 2 September 2010

As a location photographer in Yarmouth my session planning workflow usually goes something like this: Book session. Determine location. Cross fingers. The weather here is pretty fickle. This summer, though, has been gorgeous. I haven’t had to rebook anything due to weather (though Hurricane Earl is wreaking a bit of havoc for this weekend). This session with the Trefrys was another example of the perfect summer we’ve had. It was a great night for a session and we all had fun (no one more than Hannah though!). Kora did a very nice job of getting everyone wearing a nautical theme without matching exactly. Max was so adorable with his ‘Ahoy!’ onesie. He’s just a bit older than our little guy T and has definitely also moved into the stage of trying to figure our everything thing he’s seeing.

The Hideibs - Yarmouth family photography 29 June 2010

hideibs-5

I had a great time doing this session with the Hideibs on the weekend. We’ve been getting to know them over the past few months and have loads of fun whenever we get together. I think their amazing personalities come through in these shots. They’ve wanted a family picture done in front of this sign since they moved here. It was really interesting for me to try and make the background more of an element of the picture while maintaining focus on the subject. The other place we went was down around the old cotton mill. There are a lot of great textures and colours there to work with. Enjoy!

Family session in Quispamsis 1 June 2010

I’m in the middle of a trip to Saint John, NB this week. It’s been great so far. I had a really fun session on the weekend with the Esteys. We went to Ritchie Lake Park in Quispamsis (There are some tongue twisting place names here.). I’ve known Andrew and Erica for years, but this was the first time I got to meet their little girls. They’re absolutely adorable. I hope these captured a piece of the their vibrant personalities.

P in his new room 15 April 2010

I took these a could of weeks before our new little guy arrived. The light looked nice in P’s room and he was in a cooperative mood (something you have to take advantage of with a 2 year old). Digital has changed so much in photography, including how kids react to having their picture taken. Immediately after P heard the shutter, he jumped off the bed to come over and see it on the back of my camera. Here are some of my favourites:

Leblanc family session - Yarmouth photography 17 December 2009

Looking out the window at the wind and snow today it’s hard to believe that this session was just a couple of weeks ago. It almost felt like spring that day. It was a lot of fun to get to take some more pictures of Ben. I did some of him when he was just 3 months. He’s very social and full of expression, as you can see.
