Happy World Pinhole Day!

In honour of World Pinhole Day I took some lens-less photos today (after a quick trip back home in order to retrieve a forgotten memory card). I converted my 20D into a pinhole camera by replacing my lens with a modified body cap. I drilled a hole in the middle and then covered it with some black bristol board. Using a needle, I created my pinhole in the bristol board. I’m not a pinhole vet but my understanding is that my picture isn’t more clear because of an improper distance between the pinhole and the camera sensor. It’s still fun to play with. I think it’s really interesting because it really boils down the photographic process to it’s essentials: light and a way of recording it.

My parents got me a gorillapod for my birthday yesterday. I’m excited about it because it’s so much more versatile than a regular tripod. It’s also going to allow me to try out some low-light through the viewfinder shots. And I think my Duaflex looks darn cute on it.
